Russian Budget Revenues for 2002 to Top 54.4 Billion Dollars

The revenues of the Russian federal budget for 2002 will reach some 1.57 trillion rubles (54.4 billion US dollars), the Interfax reported on Sunday, citing a highly- placed official source from the Russian Finance Ministry.

"Preliminary estimates indicate that budget revenues might total around 1.57 trillion rubles," the sources said, adding that the Finance Ministry can adjust this index when implementing the budget.

Key parameters of the 2002 budget have been figured out and are likely to be discussed at a Finance Ministry board session next Wednesday, and the Russian government plans to address those parameters at its session next Thursday, the source noted.
