Contracts Worth 817 Million Dollars to Develop High-Tech Programs

A group of new and high-tech programs and infrastructure projects have been contracted for financing worth a total of 6.78 billion yuan (about 817 million US dollars), according to a new and hi-tech programs trade fair Sunday.

The fair was staged in Zhongguancun, China's leading high-tech center in Beijing, and is an important event of the ongoing fourth Beijing International Hi-Tech Industries Week.

The trade fair was an exhibition of new and hi-tech programs. A total of 301 such programs were selected out of some 1,000 scientific and technological programs for deals, involving the fields of electronics, biological engineering, new medicine, new materials and environmental protection.

Total contracted value of the fair is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan-worth, according to sources.
