Beijing District Seals Investment PackageOne of Beijing's downtown districts, Dongcheng District, signed 23 investment agreements and contracts with overseas investors Saturday, with a total investment of 1.2 billion US dollars.These agreements and contracts were signed at a seminar on development strategies of the district, which is part of the ongoing Beijing International High-Tech Industries Week. They cover a wide range of cooperation projects from traffic hubs, IT, real estate, commercial facilities, to medical and cultural projects. According to Chen Ping, administrative chief of Dongcheng, by the end of last year, the district had 666 overseas-funded enterprises, attracting nearly 1.9 billion U.S. dollars of overseas direct investment. "Now, Dongcheng has become a priority investment choice for more and more overseas investors," Chen said.
