Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region destroyed more than 4,100 illegal guns Friday morning in its capital city Yinchuan.
According to an official with the Autonomous Regional Public Security Department, the guns are part of the 14,490 illegal weapons and 70,000 bullets confiscated throughout the region since 1996, when the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Control of Firearms was implemented.
The move was also used to popularize firearms control law among the public.
