Hi-Tech Sports Equipment on Display

Hi-tech sports equipment went on display Thursday at an exhibition themed "Science & Technology vs. Olympics."

The exhibition, to last till May 15, is an important part of the ongoing Fourth Beijing International Hi-Tech Week and also part of the city's bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games.

Nano-plastic running tracks, intelligent muscle-building machines and other sports equipment as well as research results of hi-tech companies, were featured items.

Many advanced sports technologies, like the Nano-plastic materials, have been put into real use. The newly equipped Capital Stadium, for instance, uses Nano materials, which have proven to be more wearable, fireproof and mold-resistant than traditional materials.
