The two parties announced that from June they will begin code sharing cooperation on 21 domestic flights from Beijing to Shanghai, known so far as the largest of like cooperation in China. To meet with new trend of civil aviation market after China joins WTO and raised competitiveness on domestic and overseas markets, the two sides decide to conduct code sharing cooperation henceforth, Beijing-Shanghai air route can accommodate 42 round-trip flights per day, outnumbering other airlines on this route. In the meantime, Air China's flight number will appear on Shanghai-Guangzhou, Shanghai-Shenzhen, Shanghai-Chengdu and other 7 flights and Shanghai Airlines'flights will also be seen on Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Shenzhen, Beijing-Xi'an and other flights.
