The Southwest China Jiaotong University has developed the world's first manned superconducting magnetic suspension vehicle in this capital of southwest China's
Sichuan
Province.
Scientists used domestically produced high-temperature and superconducting materials to make the vehicle with a carrying capacity of 530 kilograms. The vehicle has a net suspension height of 20 mm above the rail. It can carry five persons and run at the highest speed of 300 kilometers per hour.
