Telecom Revenue Climbs in 1st QuarterTelecom industry revenue has reached 78.64 billion yuan (US$9.5 billion) in the first quarter, up 18.1 percent over the same period last year.China Telecom, the country's largest telecom firm, takes a lion's share of the revenue with 42.5 billion yuan (US$5.1 billion). Revenue of China Mobile reaches 29.39 billion yuan (US$3.6 billion), with that of China Unicom at 6.48 billion yuan (US$783.5 million). The bulk of revenue increase comes from mobile and Internet services. During the first quarter, China has added 15 million mobile phone users and 1.68 million Internet users. At present, mobile users number 100 million, with 10.2 million Internet users. |
