CSRC Establishes Nine Regional Enforcement Bueaux

To step up supervision on the securities and futures markets, China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) set up nine regional enforcement bureaux in its nine offices throughout the country on April 30.

The nine offices are located in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Shenyang, Xi'an, Wuhan and Jinan.

The move is a major reform aiming to establish and improve China's centralized and unified three-level securities regulatory regime and reflects the authorities' determination to accelerate market-oriented reform and standardized supervision of the securities market.

It is learnt the enforcement bureaux will organize and guide probes into irregularities in securities and futures markets in their corresponding regions, investigate and deal with illegal securities and futures activities in their regions, and enforce the penalties by CSRC and the regional offices on regulation violating cases.

The bureaux will also work with other relevant departments for infringements of other laws and regulations.
