Cargo Airline Between Southeast China And Japan Opened

A cargo plane of the China Cargo Airlines left Xiamen, southeastern province of Fuzhou, for Nagoya, Japan Tuesday afternoon, marking the opening of the cargo flight between the two cities.

The Xiamen to Nagoya cargo airline is the fourth of such line between China and Japan, following Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, which had opened cargo routes to Japan earlier.

Flight time for cargo planes traveling from Xiamen to Ningbo is 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Xiamen Airport is the fourth largest in China in terms of annual passenger totals. Its cargo throughput has increased by more than 30 percent yearly.

The airport opened Xiamen to an Osaka passenger airline in July 1998.

The opening of the cargo airline will satisfy the cargo transportation demand from Xiamen-based multinationals like Dell and Kodak, sources said.
