Party Publicity Chief Meets Norwegian Cultural Delegation
Ding Guangen, head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met Tuesday with a Norwegian cultural delegation headed by Ellen Horn, Norwegian Cultural Affairs Minister.
Ding, also a member of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, expressed his appreciation for the cultural exchanges between China and Norway.
Ding and the Norwegian guests also held friendly discussions on cooperation in movie making, development of national culture under the wave of globalization, and exchanges of publications and television programs.
Ding also introduced to the guests the latest achievements in China's modernization construction.
The aim of the visit by the Norwegian delegation is to enhance exchanges by high-level administrators in cultural affairs and to promote bilateral ties in the field of culture.
Culture Minister Sun Jiazheng, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee Xu Guangchun, and deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Ma Wenpu, attended the meeting.
Invited by the Ministry of Culture, the Norwegian delegation arrived here Tuesday, starting its six-day China tour.
The delegation will visit Shanghai, an industrial and financial center in eastern China, and Yunnan Province in southwest China.
