Fortune Global Forum Well Prepared in Hong Kong

Fortune Global Forum to Be Focused on China, Asia
Everything has been ready for the Fortune Global Forum scheduled for May 8-10 in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), organizers said Monday.

A number of important conferences and the opening and closing ceremonies of the forum will be held at the new wing of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, which witnessed the ceremony for Hong Kong's return to China in 1997.

In the center, the main venue of the annual event with a grand hall capable of accommodating more than 1,000 people, state-of-the-art facilities have been installed for simultaneous interpretation, video recording, electronic display and telecommunications, which will enable the forum to go ahead successfully.

A press center has been set aside for the largest-ever contingent of 1,300 reporters, including nearly 300 from overseas and over 100 from the Chinese mainland.

Enough vehicles will be in place for the attendants, and the SAR government has arranged drivers and limousines for VIPs.

Meanwhile, more than 3,000 policemen have been assigned to maintain security during the forum, which local police authorities said will show the international community that Hong Kong is one of the safest cities in the world.
