Finnish Company Signs Co-op Pact With Chinese University

The world's leading forest and paper product company, the UPM-Kymmene Group recently signed an agreement with China's Nanjing University for co-operation in environmental protection education.

According to the agreement, the Finnish company shall set up a scholarship at the university in Jiangsu Province, provide its Institute of Environment with instruction materials and invite Finnish technicians to the university to give lectures.

The company now owns a large paper mill in Changshu City in Jiangsu, which tops all Finnish investment projects in China with its 600 million U.S. dollar investment.

Sinikka Moenkaere, the Finnish Minister of Trade and Industry, who is leading a trade delegation to China, attended the signing ceremony.
