Cloned Goat on Display at Xi'an Zoo

Three goats cloned from embryonic cells made their first appearance before the public at the Xi'an Zoo recently.

They -- Shanshan, Gege and Nana -- were the first batch among the 45 goats cloned by Zhang Yong, a professor with the Northwest China University of Agriculture, Forestry, Science and Technology, in 1995.

Together with the three cloned goats on display is Doudou, Shanshan's offspring.

Zoo staff have built a 60 square-meter "home" for the cloned goats, who play and walk happily there. They will remain at the zoo until June.
