HK Mobilizes 3,000 Policemen During Fortune Global Forum

Hong Kong police will mobilize 3, 000 policemen to be on duty during the Fortune Global Forum on May 8-10 to ensure the smooth proceeding of the event.

Police have sufficient manpower and experience to ensure that the forthcoming Fortune Global Forum can proceed without interruptions, said Tsang Yam-pui, commissioner of police of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), Saturday morning.

Speaking to the media after inspecting police arrangements for the event in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center Saturday morning, Tsang said police were putting a finishing touch on the security arrangements.

Tsang said Hong Kong police have experience on the security measures for major international events, such as Hong Kong's return to the motherland in 1997, and have also keep in touch with international law-enforcement agencies to share their experience.
