An opening ceremony was held here Wednesday for the star-studded Macao Golf Open, which will start Thursday at the Macao Golf and Country Club.
Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao special administrative region, gave the first shot at the ceremony. The tournament will last four days.
The 250,000-U.S.-dollar tournament has attracted all the leading players from the Davidoff Tour, including last year's European number one Lee Westwood and two-time Major winner John Daly.
Being the seventh leg of the Davidoff Tour, the Macao Open will certainly ensure a lot of exciting action for the fans, while providing an exceptional educational opportunity for the local players, said Manuel Silverio, president of the Macao Sports Development Board, at a press conference.
