China to Build Clock Museum in Yantai

The coastal city of Yantai in east China's Shandong Province is to build a China Clocks and Watches Museum.

Yantai is the cradle of China's modern clocks and watches industry.

The museum was jointly built by the China Horology Association, the Association of China Timekeeping Devices History, the Beijixing Clocks and Watches Company and the Yantai Museum.

China was the first country in the world to invent and apply the use of timekeepers and is also a big producer of clocks and watches. However, China does not have a large-sized clocks and watches museum yet.

The museum will exhibit ancient timekeepers and a precious collection of clocks and watches.
