South China Autonomous Region Boosts Economic Ties with Canada

An agreement was recently signed between south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Alliance of Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) of Canada to enhance their industrial cooperation.

Under the agreement, activities for investment, trade, technological exchanges and personnel training will be held by the two sides.

The CME has 3000 members in Canada, and its output value and export volume respectively account for 75 percent and 90 percent of that country's total.

Guangxi has so far launched 56 Canada-funded projects, more than half of which are in the manufacturing field. It is now attracting more overseas investment to boost the technical innovation of local state-owned enterprises.

Doreen Ruso, head of the visiting CME delegation, said that she is confident with the prospects of cooperation between the two sides.
