Second Seeds Wangs Beaten in Mixed Doubles

The world top man and the world top woman combined for the worst in table tennis.

Wang Liqin and Wang Nan, first in the men's and women's world rankings, were beaten by Ko Lai Chak and Wong Jing from Hong Kong, China, in the mixed doubles third round of the World Table Tennis Championships on Tuesday.

Ko, who combined with Li Ching to upset Swedish star duo Jan-Ove Waldner and Jorgen Persson in the men's doubles first round on Monday, paired up with women's defensive player Wong Jing to beat Wang Liqin and Wang Nan 21-8, 14-21, 21-14.

"They couldn't adapt themselves to best form," said Chinese coach Li Xiaodong.
