Chinese Women's Romp into Singles Second Round

Seven Chinese women advanced into the women's singles second round, all with a 3-0 win, at the World Table Tennis Championships Tuesday in Osaka.

Wang Nan, Li Ju and Zhang Yingning, ranked first to third in the world, routed their rivals without a sweat raised.

Yang Ying, No. 4, Li Nan, No. 11, Lin Ling, No. 14, and Niu Jianfeng, No. 25, also made the second round.

Chinese Taipei's Chen Jing, ranked 5th in the world, and Tamara Boros of Croatia easily overcame their rivals to reach the second round.
