Beijing-Shanghai Express Bus Service Starts Operation

A new express bus service connecting China's capital Beijing and the largest commercial city Shanghai started operation Monday.

There are two services everyday and the drive time lasts 12 to 13 hours. The new bus route is 1,296 kilometers long and has two stops on the way, at which passengers may have a rest and buy local products.

The buses are equipped with lavatories, and snacks and tea are available.

Some passengers said it is more convenient to take the bus than travel by air or by train, for there is no need to buy a ticket before hand, and the bus may arrive at the downtown areas of the two cities.
