Russia to Provide China with Natural Gas Starting from 2006
As announced lately Russia Petroleum is going to supply natural gas to China as starting from the year 2006.
The company said that from 2006 on, it will guarantee a supply of natural gas for 30 years to come with an annual volume of 20 billion cubic meters to major northeast cities as Shenyang, Dalian, Fushun, Changchun, Harbin, and Tianjin in north China. The gas is exploited from the Kovyktinskoye gas field in Siberia and conducted by a 2700-km pipeline from Baikal Lake to China.
According to reports, the total cost of the project is as estimated to be of US$ 10 billion with the feasibility study to kick off next year.
