Galaxy Super Computer to Be Industrialized
April 29 saw the formal laying of foundation of the base for the transformation of Scientific Achievement by the National University of Defense Technology in Dongguan Galaxy (Yinhe) Information Industry Park, which marks a great stride forward in the industrialization of China's Galaxy computer. It also signals that this great achievement is going to be commercialized.
As a research and production base of the "Galaxy" computer series with China's own intellectual property rights, Galaxy information industry park was set up by the Galaxy Information Industry Co, last year.
The Galaxy series super computers have roused great echoes in overseas and domestic markets after more than a decade's research and study by National University of Defense Technology. Being in a cutting-edge field of Information technology, the high-performance super computer will play a very important role in a country's economic development, sci-tech progress and national security. So far, only few countries in the world have mastered the technology in developing computers of suchlike.
By adopting the core technologies of China her own, the Galaxy Starlight server developed on the basis of the Galaxy computers has greatly overcome the security problems occurring in the chips of computer system imported from foreign countries.
