Opera Marks Birthday of Lu Xun

An opera was staged at the China Children's Theater Sunday to mark the 120th birth anniversary of Lu Xun (1881-1936).

Lu was one of the greatest Chinese writers of the 20th century and a leading critic of the Kuomintang Regime in the 1930s.

According to the Central Experimental Drama Theater, who performed the musical, all the words of the hero, Lu Xun, came from his articles, works and words.

Zhang Guangtian, the playwright, said in 1993, the Shanghai Studio asked him to write a film script but it turned out to be a musical.
