Yunnan Opens First Cross-Border Holiday Train

The Kunming Railway Administration will open a special train to Hanoi, capital of Viet Nam, during the week-long May Day holiday period for tourists to and from Viet Nam.

This will be the first cross-border train Yunnan Province has ever arranged for holiday goers.

The train will set off from Kunming, the provincial capital, at 14:40 pm of April 30 and arrive at Hanoi at 19:30 the following day. Then passengers may visit Vietnamese scenic spots along the railway track or harbor and Ha Long, a natural heritage in Viet Nam. It will take seven days to complete the trip.

The provincial public security department and travel services have worked out measures to simplify exit-entry formalities.

The Kunming Railway Administration and related Vietnamese departments reached an agreement in March to arrange such passenger trains.
