Ethiopian Plane Hijacked to Sudan to Arrive HomeA Sudanese diplomat to Ethiopia said Saturday that all the hostages on the plane hijacked to Khartoum, capital of the Sudan by eight Ethiopians will arrive in Addis Ababa at 12:00 a.m. (local time).The official from the Sudanese Embassy to Ethiopia said that issues concerning repatriation of the eight hijackers, among them two women, will be decided in later negotiations. A Sudanese delegation led by Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail is currently in Addis Ababa, discussing the issues concerning the hijacking which occurred Thursday. Eight military cadets who failed aviation exams seized an Ethiopian military plane with grenades and pistols on Thursday night and diverted it to the Sudan. At the time, the plane was carrying 51 passengers on board on a domestic flight from Bahir Dar, capital of Amhara State to Addis Ababa. |
