Foreigners Awarded Title of Model WorkerSeven foreign managers working in the Dalian Development Zone were granted the title of Model Worker Friday, the first of its kind in Dalian, a famous tourist and port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.Authorities of the Dalian Development Zone held ceremonies to celebrate the Labor Day and to reward those nominated as Model Workers, including seven foreigners from Japan, the Great Britain and the Republic of Korea. a Japanese manager who is among the nominees has worked in Dalian for 7 years and helped introduce a few Japanese companies to settle in the zone. Phil Loxton, general manager of a can-making company in the zone, said," I have worked in many countries in Europe and America, but never got such title. The zone authorities give me the tile, which indicates the appreciation of my work and also a kind of encouragement." |
