President Jiang Zemin Meets WTCA DelegationHeadquartered in New York, the WTCA is a non-governmental international organization committed to the promotion of world trade. So far, it has over 330 member cities across the world, including 19 Chinese cities. Jiang, after extending a warm welcome to the delegation, gave a high evaluation of its long-term devotion to global business and trade, especially among the developing countries, as well as its contribution to world peace. He also thanked Tozzoli and his colleagues for their consistent pursuit of the One-China principle, active support for China's WTO entry and commitment to cooperation between the WTCA and China. The president expressed the hope that the WTCA would further expand its cooperation with China, and actively participate in China's western development strategy, so as to jointly contribute to the world economy and global trade. Tozzoli said the WTCA has maintained good long-term cooperative ties with China, and China's current strategy of developing its western area will certainly provide more opportunities for the WTCA's further cooperation with China.
