Chau Tak Hay, secretary for commerce and industry, will leave April 28 for a five-day visit to Washington and Geneva, to foster links with the new US Administration.

He will also exchange views on the global trade policy agenda, including the prospects for launching a new round of multilateral trade negotiations under the World Trade Organization.

During his stay in Washington, Chau will meet with his counterparts and key policy makers, including the U.S. Trade Representative, Ambassador Robert Zoellick, and Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans.

In Geneva, Chau will have meetings with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Mike Moore, as well as the Permanent Representatives of some WTO members.
