Three Palestinians Killed, Six Wounded in Explosion in Gaza Strip

Three Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in a remote-controlled explosion in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical and security sources said.

A Palestinian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, accused Israel of having assassinated one official and two activists from the Tanzim, an organization of the Palestinian mainstream Fatah movement, led by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

Meanwhile, the medical sources said that six other Palestinians were wounded in the explosion, including two seriously, in the Rafah area on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Among the wounded is a local Fatah representative in Rafah, Ziad Shaath.

The Israeli army set off an explosive charge on the border, as nine Palestinians were crossing, killing Nedal Al Dabass, Ramadan Azam and Anis Za'rab, aged from 20 to 30, and wounding six others, one of the medical sources said.

According to witnesses, the explosion happened just as the Palestinians were passing close to the barbed wire and concrete blocks marking the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
