China Lauches First Charity Website

The China Charity Federation (CCF) launched China's first charity website in Beijing Thursday.

Yan Mingfu, CCF president, said that China has witnessed great achievements in charity work in recent years. The CCF, as one of the most influential charity organizations in the country, has strengthened communication with its foreign counterparts.

Yan said that the website is designed to be a comprehensive network aiding disadvantaged and poor citizens. The website will provide charity information, coordinate online donations and establish a data bank of charity volunteers.

According to Yan, the website has both Chinese and English versions. The Chinese version covers such sections as "Introduction to Domestic and Overseas Charity Organizations", "Information About the Disadvantaged" and "Online Donations".

Most of the Chinese version is already accessible. The English version is still in the experimental stage, Yan added.
