Cross-Straits Symposium on Airborne Technology Staged in Nanchang

Over 180 Chinese experts from Taiwan, Hong Kong and inland regions attended the 2001 Cross-Straits Symposium on Space Technology and Disaster Prevention, which closed Wednesday in Jinggangshan, east China's Jiangxi Province.

The five-day meeting was devoted to scientific exchanges on the application of satellite remote sensing and airborne remote sensing technology in disaster prevention, land resource and environmental protection as well as farm produce monitoring, urban planning and mapping.

The fourth annual symposium is jointly sponsored by remote sensing application associations in inland regions and Taiwan geological information association.

Former sessions have contributed to promoting cross-straits exchanges on remote sensing, geological information networking and global positioning system technologies.
