Northeast Asia Economic Forum to Be Held in Jilin

The 10th Northeast Asia Economic Forum (NEAEF) is to be held in this capital of northeast China's Jilin Province from April 27 to 29.

Sources said the forum provides opportunities for northeast Asian countries to exchange views on furthering economic cooperation with each other.

Major topics for the forum include resource exploration and development, financial cooperation, development of a regional traffic network and human resource issues.

The event was jointly sponsored by American East-West Center and Jilin Provincial Government.

Representatives from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), World Bank and Asian Development Bank will also take part in the forum.



The NEAEF is a regional non-governmental organization. It was initiated by seven countries, namely, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Mongolia, Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, in 1991.
