Lockheed Martin Reports Near Doubling Net Income
The US aeronautics and defense group Lockheed Martin on Tuesday reported a near doubling in its first quarter net income to 105 million dollars from 54 million in the same period last year.
Earnings per share came to 25 cents including special items, compared with 14 cents in first quarter 2000, and 23 cents when such items were excluded.
Net sales for the first quarter were five billion dollars, down ten percent when compared with the January-March period of last year.
