Bomb explodes in Pakistan market

A bomb has ripped through a crowded market on the outskirts of Islamabad Monday, injuring up to 20 people.

The crude home-made bomb, hidden in a cart in the vegetable section of the market, exploded during the peak morning rush hour in the federal capital, destroying a small truck.

Doctors said at least two of the injured were in a serious condition.

Nearby residents and shopkeepers took the wounded to two of the larger hospitals in the area and ambulances were quickly sent to the scene.

Police said they were looking for an Afghan national thought to have been seen in the area shortly before the explosion.

No one has so far admitted responsibility for the blast. Police said they were trying to determine who planted the device and why.

Monday's bomb blast was the second in the same area in seven months.
