Jilin to Host Int'l Sculpture Exhibition

Scores of noted sculptors from both at home and abroad are expected in this capital of northeast China's Jilin Province this July to work on an international sculpture exhibition.

This will be the fifth holding of the annual event.

To date, a total of 83 sculptures -- 15 from domestic sculptors and 68 from overseas ones -- have been selected from over 1,600 entries sent by artists from 75 countries and regions.

The sculptors will start their work on July 10, and the exhibition is scheduled to close September 10.

The exhibition, with the theme "Friendship, Peace and Spring," is being jointly organized by the Changchun Municipal People's Government and the All-China Urban Sculpture Construction Guiding Committee.
