China to Curb Pollution of Electrolytic Aluminum Industry

China is expected to curb pollution caused by byproducts of the electrolytic aluminum industry.

A new technique developed by Great Wall Aluminum Company, recently approved by state authorities, is believed to efficiently eliminate most of the fluorine in the exhaust gas.

The production of electrolytic aluminum generates large quantities of fluorine-containing smoke, which severely damages the environment if emitted without filtration.

Experiments have shown that the new application will reduce 99. 99 percent of industrial dust and 99 percent of fluorine during the production process of electrolytic aluminum.

Experts said that the application makes it possible to eradicate pollution, which has been a problem of the industry for decades.

Related departments will soon promote the application throughout the country.
