German Chancellor Meets With Russian Prime Minister
German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder met with visiting Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov on Monday to discuss bilateral relations.
The talks between the two leaders focused on how to improve bilateral economic relations, the spokesman for the government, Uwe-Karsten Heye, told reporters.
Schroeder stressed that it was important for Russia to continue with its reforms, Heye said.
They also talked on the issue of Russian television station NTW, the spokesman said.
The issue of Russia's debts owed to Germany, a topic scheduled to be a key point of the talks, was not involved, according to Heye.
