Survey Lists HK Int'l Airport As World's Best Airport 2001

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has been named the World's Best Airport for 2001 in an independent survey conducted by a British-based airline and air-travel industry research company.

The HKIA emerged as the winner in the survey conducted by Skytrax Research, with more than 15 percent more than second- placed airport, Kuala Lumpur. Third place went to another Asian airport, Singapore's Changl.

Passengers were asked to nominated an airport for ease of use, signposting, accessibility, ease of transfer, passenger facilities and passenger terminal comfort.

The survey was conducted over five months and received more than 412,000 nominations worldwide, most of them through an online survey carried out on Skytrax' website.
