China to Issue 12 Billion Yuan in Treasury Bonds

China is to issue 12 billion yuan worth of treasury bonds April 23-27, the Ministry of Finance announced Monday.

The treasury bonds will be sold at bond markets under the stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen.

This is the first time China has issued treasury bonds on the stock market this year.

The T-bonds have a maturity period of seven years and an annual interest rate of 3.27 percent, with interest paid every year.

Some 59 qualified stock brokerage companies, trust investment companies and insurance companies in the country extended bids to undertake the sale of the T-bonds in Shanghai on Sunday. The total sum of the bid topped 28.8 billion yuan.
