Large Petroleum Project Built by China in Kuwait in Operation

Kuwaiti government on April 22 held a grand ceremony for the operation of a China-built oil gathering station with an annual production capacity of 12 million tons in the country. It is also a move to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Kuwait.

Both Chinese delegates and related Kuwaiti government departments attended the ceremony. It is a huge oil project of the world advanced level, said the first deputy PM of Kuwait in praise of it.

Kuwait, an"oil depot" in the Middle East, which owns the richest oil reserve in the world, is very strict with the standard for petroleum project construction. The oil gathering station is so far the largest of its kind built by China overseas. China National Petroleum Engineering Construction Corporation, the undertaker of the project, adopted state-of-art management and technology in contracting, design and construction. The project covers a daily handling of 190,000 barrels of crude oil and construction of two oil-gathering stations of 220,000 barrels and a 260 km pipeline building. All of them have been brought to finish under a very hard natural condition and a strict requirement for project quality.
