Hu Jintao Visits Northeast Vietnam

Hu Jintao, Chinese Vice-President and Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Saturday visited a local farm in Quang Ninh Province in northeast Vietnam.

Hu, who is leading a CPC delegation here to attend the ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, also paid a visit to a local farmer's house in the province, where he was warmly welcomed by local officials and people.

In the afternoon, Hu met with Vietnamese Minister of Industry Dang Vu Chu, saying he hoped both sides would join hands in bringing the economic cooperation between the two countries to a new height.

Also in the afternoon, he went to the Chinese embassy in Hanoi to see the staffs and representatives of Chinese firms and students studying in Vietnam, encouraging them to work even harder to make new contributions to the enhancement of the China-Vietnam good- neighborly, friendly and cooperative relations.
