Anonymous Donor Contributes Dinosaur Eggs for Pajero Victim

An anonymous donor gave his collection of three fossilized dinosaur eggs to a Mitsubishi Pajero accident victim, who is unable to pay expensive hospital fees, disclosed the victim's family on April 22.

The donor, a resident of this capital of central China's Hunan Province, wanted to remain anonymous for his contribution of the treasure to Zhou Jianhong, husband of Lu Hui, who was seriously injured when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle when its brakes failed on December 25, 2000 in the city.

Lu has been in the hospital for almost four months and the medical fees are now hitting over 300,000 yuan.

The donor allowed Zhou to auction off the fossils in China, and use the money to pay the hospital bills for his wife.

The three fossils have been authenticated by experts with the Hunan Provincial Geological Museum.

Lu Xiaofeng, a renowned auctioneer in Changsha, volunteered to conduct the auction free of charge to show his support for the couple.

Zhou said that both his family and the driver of the Pajero, Li Zhiming, have run out of money to pay her medical fees, which increase by 1,000 yuan daily.

Lu's doctor said that it will take at least two years for Lu to recover.

To date, the negotiations between Lu's family, the Pajero driver, Li Zhiming, and Mitsubishi over compensation have not reached satisfactory results. Mitsubishi has yet shown any clear intention for compensating the victim.
