President Jiang Zemin met Wang Wei's relatives Friday morning in Beijing. Wang Wei went missing and is presumed dead after his fighter jet was rammed into by a US spy plane on April 1 over the South China Sea. Wang's wife Ruan Guoqin and other relatives were present at the meeting.

Tianjin Speeds Its Dredging up of Sea-route

April 20 saw Tianjin port step up its sea-route clear-up of capacity up to some 100 thousand tons. The project streches out some 26 km and 180 m in width. It was launched in last August, and expected to be finished this August. In due time, it will meet the need of in-and-out of vessel with 100 thousand tons and containers of the fifth and sixth generation.
