China Pour in 14 Billion Yuan for Inland Water Transport ConstructionThis year China will invest 14 billion yuan for the construction of its Inland water transportation.China will draw some funds from fuel taxation, which was reformed a couple of months ago, for infrastructure construction of the inland water transportation and the structure adjustment of shipping industry. The inland shipping is a traditional means of transportation in China. Related departments have issued preferential policies to encourage the inland water transportation. This year, investment in Yangtze River waterways will surpass that of last year. According to the Ministry of Communications, stresses will be laid on the three aspects of work.
