NZ, Chinese Universities Sign Cooperation AgreementA New Zealand and a Chinese university signed an educational cooperation agreement on Thursday.Visiting Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark attended the signing ceremony and expressed the hope that the two countries should carry out more exchange programs in education. Under the agreement, Waikato University and Shanghai International Studies University will work together to finance education exchange programs, set up new school courses, and explore new ways of cooperation. The two universities have already carried out the student exchange program for six years. A group of students studied in the Shanghai International Studies University and then went to Waikato for another two years of study. On Thursday, Clark also talked to Shanghai students about trade relationships between New Zealand and China, the history of the country's education program, and the customs of he country. |
