Zhu Rongji Congratulates Vasily Tarlev Over Taking Office

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji on Friday sent a message of congratulations to Vasily Tarlev on the occasion of the latter's taking the office of Moldovan prime minister.

Zhu said that the Chinese government consistently attaches importance to developing friendly ties with Moldova and that it conforms with the fundamental interests of the two countries to broaden cooperation in all fields.

"I believe that with our common effort, the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Moldova will certainly continue to be enhanced and develop to a higher level," Zhu said in the message.

Vasily Tarlev took the office of prime minister on Thursday.
