Hunan to Build Aquatic Products Science ParkAn aquatic products scientific and technological Park will be built in Laodaohe Town near this capital of central China's Hunan Province.Hunan has a vast expanse of waters and abounds in fishery resources. Last year, its aquatic products output reached 1.34 million tons. Fishery has become a pillar industry of the rural economy in Hunan. Since 1993, Hunan has built a state-level fish breeding farm and a Chinese turtle breeding farm with a total investment of 40 million yuan (about 5 million US dollars). The Hunan Aquatic Products Scientific and Technological Park will consist of the Hunan Aquatic Products Research Institute, the Hunan Quality Inspection Station for Aquatic Products and the Hunan Fishery Supervision Center, etc. The park will carry out fishery research, demonstrate breeding experiment, exercise supervision over the fishery environment, inspect the quality of aquatic products, spread new techniques, offer training courses and promote high-tech industrial development. |
