The Chinese government has vowed to fight against illegal pyramid sales as one of the key issues in regulating the market and maintaining economic order.
Illegal pyramid sales, taking place in south China's Hainan province, have drawn attention from the General State Administration for Industry and Commerce (GSAIC).
"The illegal activities, distinctive from the original ones, have changed their swindling ways into "allying with chain stores," said a higher official of the GSAIC.
The GSAIC has launched a large-scale battle against pyramid sales and achieved great success. Over 10,500 judicial people destroyed 394 illegal pyramid sales dens and found out 19,200 persons involved.
