Beijing Academy of China Telecom Established
The Beijing Academy of China Telecommunications corporation (China Telecom) was recently set up in Beijing.
Tracing the development trend of the advanced telecom technology, the Academy will focus its attention on researching and framing the development plan of network technology and business by digging deep into the corporation's policies for the development to work out schemes for network development and technological application. Meanwhile, it will also carry out the research on the soft-science for decision-making to map out technological system and criteria, be responsible for the access exam of facilities and offer reference opinion on the choice of major equipment model.
The Academy will set up an experimental environment for the verification of new technology, new equipment and new business in the operation of network and for the R&D of Internet applications. Besides, it will provide China Telecom with relevant information supporting service by exploiting new telecom business and value-added business, conducting research of the market possibility for relevant technologies and establishing information base, cost database and book data bank.
As information technology has gradually become a decisive factor in promoting the progress of productive forces, the survival and development of telecom enterprises have seen an increasing tendency for relying on the creative and innovative competence in technology. In order to make a further enhancement in research and promote the application and exploration of new technology and business China Telecom has so far set up three R&D centers in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in this regard.
